WebI own 2008 Chevy HHR. It has been a great car until recently. On a very hot day after I had been driving and restarting without problems the car would not restart. I even added gas thinking the gas gauge had a problem. Still no restart. GMC roadside took the car to a dealer and naturally it ran fine and restarted multiple times for them. WebMar 18, 2024 · You have already replaced the Purge Control Valve which is often the culprit so the possible solution may be to drain the gas from the tank checking for dirt or whatever and replacing the fuel filter unless there is an indication on the dash menu when the problem occurs that could lead to a fuel tank pressure sensor or something else.

I believe there are 2 valves--- one is on top of the gas tank- the 2nd is close to the engine. Usually changing the one by the engine will correct the issue.
